ZERO CARBON
In order to set a good example for its customers and partners, Canopée is committed to neutralizing its CO2 emissions through the Zero Carbon program, in partnership with the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV). Canopée will qualify and eliminate greenhouse gas emissions in its first year of activity with the reforestation of 5 hectares of native forest.
How will Canopée become carbon zero?
In accordance with the guidelines defined by ABNT NBR ISO 14.064, GHG Protocol and IPCC Guidelines, the Carbon Zero Program methodology to help Canopée in this mission will follow three steps:
Carrying out an inventory of the main sources of greenhouse gas emissions for 2021; Conversion into a standard unit of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e); Planting seedlings that, over the next 30 years, will act as a CO2 sink. The entire process of quantifying emissions will be carried out in a transparent and self-declared manner, in order to cover all activities of the Canopée team this year.
